Colorectal cancer (CRC) remains a major health concern in the Westernized countries. It is the third most common type of cancer and ranks second in cancer associated mortality in the UK and USA [1,2]. The majority of cases of CRC occur in the average-risk person, but multiple factors associated with increased risk have been identified, and individual risk can be estimated [5].
