Bisoprolol delays progression towards right heart failure in experimental pulmonary hypertension.

de Man FS, Handoko ML, van Ballegoij JJ et al.
In pulmonary hypertension (PH), the adrenergic system is overactivated like it is in left heart failure (HF). However, whereas in left HF β-blockers are the main drugs used along with angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, in PH β-blockers are currently not recommended. Among β-blockers, bisoprolol is the most β1-selective.
