Editor’s note: The selective vasodilative properties of inhaled iloprost, a prostacyclin analogue, have previously been investigated in patients with interstitial lung disease, and the authors of an open-label study reported an improvement in 6-min walk distance (6MWD) in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) who received this agent (Respiration 2010;79:377–82).
