Gerard Espinosa’s review: The current classification criteria for antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) include only the immunoglobulin G (IgG) and IgM isotypes of anticardiolipin and anti-β2-glycoprotein I (aβ2GPI) antibodies. However, there is some evidence of a relationship between the IgA isotypes of these antibodies and the thrombotic manifestations of APS (J Rheumatol 2011;38:64–8, J Autoimmun 2006;27:266–71).
